April 23rd-Prompt: Which part of the annotated bibliography (summary, reflection, or evaluation) was the most challenging for you, and why? Explain how that challenge helped you grow as a researcher and how it will help you when writing your research paper.

Response- The evaluation was the hardest for me because I had to go over and analyze the entire source so it was a bit more challenging then doing the summary and reflection because im used to practicing summary/evaluation for my blog posts. Summary- The evaluation was the most challenging reflection- We worked on annotated bibliography for our sources.

April 21st-Prompt: As you gathered sources, you were expected to find multiple perspectives on your topic. What differences did you notice between your sources? Explain how these differences helped you better understand the complexity of your issue.

Response- The sources I got had two different perspectives, mainly one side opposed to cancel culture and the affects, and the other side talked about freedom of speech and its limits. The different sides of each source helped me understand both perspectives of the issue. Summary- Showed me both perspectives of the question Reflection- In class we did research on our topics with the website and added to our folder.

April 20th- Think about your experience using GALILEO to find sources. How was this different from how you have searched for information in the past? Explain how using specific search strategies and evaluating sources impacted the quality of what you found.

Response- Its different from just searching on google and clicking a website, because GALILEO gives you trusted and verified sources. It also gives you an option to select categories for your question, so you can get a more accurate answer/ source. Summary- Its much more specific and gives trusted sources. Reflection- In class we used the GALILEO website to find sources

April 17-Political cartoons often use exaggeration and symbolism to make a point, and they can also serve as important visual sources for analysis. What is being criticized in this image? What does this source suggest about the issue, and what does the cartoonist want the audience to question or reconsider?

Reponse- The image represents trump sending out ice to harass and deport innocent people, and then try to use Iran attacking Israel as a distraction to make ice seem irrelevant. Both situations are very terrible but the main image is focused on ice and the "Big Beautiful Bill" while trump is off to the side pointing and shouting about the attacks trying to throw off the audience. Summary- I feel like this image representing the events right now really good. Reflection- In class we had a fire drill and then studied how to research properly and the steps.

April 15- Think about how you have searched for information in the past compared to what you practiced today. How is creating specific search phrases different from just “Googling” a topic? Explain how this strategy will improve the quality of your research.

Response- In the past I would usually just Google something to get the answer, and find it from the first two topics or first page. I wouldn't use sites like Wikipedia, but I didn't research for a trusted source to find information either. But I'm going to start using Google scholar to find info because it's from a trusted source and you can get more specific on what you're looking for. Summary- I uses to just go off the first few options when searching for something and wouldn't check if it was a trusted source which I learned to not do from now on. Reflection- In class we worked on the same research assignment but got another paper to fill out.

April 14-Prompt: Your research question is designed to explore a complex issue. What makes this topic difficult to answer or solve? Identify at least two different perspectives or factors related to your topic and explain why understanding multiple viewpoints is important.

Response- Our topic was to cancel culture against freedom of speech. Some challenging things to consider was the extent of getting canceled and the specifics of someone's actions or word choice. Summary- How far should cancel culture go against freedom of speech? Should people be limited to speaking their opinions. Reflection- In class we worked on the research sheet and learned how to look things up on Google scholar.

April 13- Reflect on your past experiences with research in school. What challenges have you faced when working independently or in a group, and how did you handle them? Explain how those experiences will influence the way you approach this current research project.

Response- In past projects when I worked with a group of people, I usually struggled with communicating with my group members, or there was one person in the group who didn't do any work. But with my group members currently I probably won't have that issue because we were actually engaging and doing work. Summary- past problems were communication while working on a project. Reflection- In class we started working on research and got new seats with our group members.
