March 24-Based on the first 40 minutes of the film and Chapters 1–11 of the book, does the visual version of Chris’s journey make his choices seem more justified or more reckless than the text does? Explain how the medium (film vs writing) shapes your perspective.

Response- The film makes his actions more justifiable, right from the start we see things in order, how Chris experienced things and how his family and the outside world treated him. But in the book there are huge time skips which creates more questions and mysterious which alters how people perceive Chris. Summary- The film makes Chris's actions more justifiable. Reflection- In class we watched the film adaptation of "Into The Wild"

March 23-Think about a moment when your understanding of your family changed as you got older. How did that shift impact your perspective, and how does that connect to Chris’s realization about his parents in Chapter 11?

Response- When growing up I slowly realized that my parents had lied about certain things to cover up how I saw them. It was about what they did but the principle, and it was things they didn't even have to keep from me because of my age, they just straight out lied for no reason and it made me see them differently. Summary- My parents lied about things which made me see them differently just like how Chris started to see his family from another perspective. Reflection- In class we read chapter 11

March 26- In your opinion, what builds trust in a relationship, and what can damage it?

Response- I think communication and time builds trust in a relationship. And also when you keep your word about things you say your going to do. Lying and hiding things definitely breaks trust in a relationship. Summary- Communication builds trust while lying breaks trust. Reflection- In class we did vocabulary and went over chapter 12 in the book while answering connection questions.

March 20- Prompt: Reflect on your reading of Into the Wild chapters 1–10. Which chapter stood out to you the most, and why? In your response, explain what specifically made this chapter meaningful, interesting, or impactful. You may consider elements such as McCandless’s actions, a key event, a theme, or Krakauer’s storytelling.

Response- The chapter that stood out to me the most was chapter 10. It was a specific paragraph that stood out to me, close to the end. It was when mccandless was saying his goodbyes to everyone and started crying. He was seen as someone to not build relationships with people and kept a distance but it surprised me that he had played the piano fluently for everyone, and even cried when he was about to leave. I think he knew that he was risking his life for the sake of finding his identity and being free.  Summary- Something that stuck out to me was chapter 10, when McCandless cried. Reflection- We talked about the into the wild book for class.

March 19-Reflect on what success means to you at your current stage in life. In the response, explain how success is currently defined (grades, college acceptance, achievements, happiness, etc.) and where those ideas come from. Then, consider whether that definition truly reflects personal values or if it is shaped by expectations from family, school, or society.

Response- To me, success is being happy In life, achieving all your goals, getting a stable job and life, and having good relationships. Some people may view it differently but in my case getting successful is good grades, keeping my job, and getting into a good college. I think this comes from both my personal values and society expectations.  Reflection- Being successful is achieving your goals and having a happy life. Summary- For class today we read new chapters of into the wild.

March 17-Prompt: Chris chooses independence over relationships. When have you chosen to be on your own instead of relying on others? What happened, and would you make the same choice again?

Response- During my freshman year I used to rely on my best friend a lot for advice. I would never listen to her and get myself in trouble and after a while she started getting annoyed and didn't care if I didn't take her advice. It made me feel bad and I decided to start thinking like her and make my own choices. I would make the same choices, because I've been doing that ever since. Summary- I started making my own decisions instead of relying on my friend to help me. Reflection- In class we worked on into the wild book.

March 12-Prompt: For most of you, yesterday you took the SAT. If you did not, you will take it before you leave high school. What is your desired SAT score? Identify your top three colleges and explain why each school appeals to you.

Response- I did take the SAT, My dream score is probably a little over average, 1300. The top schools that I want to get into is either Georgia state, Georgia southern, and I haven't found the third yet. I've visited both and my step brother attends Georgia state. Both campuses were nice but Georgia southern was almost 4 hours away, I would probably get home sick. Summary- Top two I would go to are Georgia state and Georgia southern. Reflection- We worked on the wild book.

March 10-Do you find it easy or difficult to adjust your schedule? Explain how the time change affects your mood, productivity, or daily habits.

Response- I'm not really that affected by the time change, but I have been falling asleep way later and getting less sleep. It definitely feels like I'm losing sleep but on the bright side it doesn't get dark super early during the evenings anymore. Summary- It's only affecting my sleep schedule. Reflection- I wasn't in class because I had tardies I had to stay in trailers.

march 9- Has a book, song, musician, or artist ever influenced the way you think about life, goals, or the world around you? Identify the specific book, song, musician, or artist and explain how their ideas or message affected your thinking.

Response- The artists young thug and Clairo make me see everything differently. They're both really different music artists but I really like their music its very poetic. Clairo writes very soft music which fits me more but young thug has really good lines but his music is catchy. Summary- Clairo and young thug changed my perspective. Reflection- In class we worked on reading into the wild and answered questions.

March 5-Prompt: In Into the Wild, Christopher McCandless gives up many of his possessions in pursuit of freedom and meaningful experiences. If you had to simplify your life and keep only a few important possessions, what would you keep and why? What would be hardest to leave behind?

Response- Things I would keep If I were leaving things behind would be polaroid pictures of me and my friends, McDonald's giftcard, and makeup. All these things are important to me, and I would keep the pictures for memories and motivation. Something that would be the hardest for me to let go of would probably be makeup because I use it everyday. Summary- Things I would keep would be pictures of my friends, makeup, and McDonald's giftcard. Reflection- In class we worked on new assignments for a block period class, it was about into the wild, choosing themes for certain quotes and a writable assignment.

March 4-Prompt: People sometimes feel the need to step away from their normal routines or environments in order to better understand themselves. Describe a time when you needed distance from a situation, place, or group of people in order to think more clearly or gain perspective. What did that experience teach you about yourself?

Response- One time when I had been arguing with my dad over the summer for days on end, I had to get out of the house to think to myself about what to do. I ended up taking back to back shifts to get out of the house and ended up getting some additional advice from my coworker about what to do. I think its good to get out sometimes to think about certain situations.  Summary- When I was arguing with my dad I had to get out of the house. Reflection- In class we worked on our new book and survival.

March 3-Prompt: After reading Chapter 1 of Into the Wild, consider your first impression of Christopher McCandless. Based solely on the events and details presented in this opening chapter, do you believe McCandless truly understood the risks he was taking when he entered the Alaskan wilderness? Why or why not?

Response- We didn't have time in class to read chapter 1, but we did talk about things we would bring if we went camping alone for months. I chose to bring first aid and a Glock for safety. We also talked about bears and what to do if you see when. We saw a video of a bear chasing someone and it was scary how fast they run, but educated me on how to escape from one. Summary- I would bring first aid and a Glock to go camping. Reflection- In class we wrote 12 things to bring camping and talked about how to survive.

March 2-Prompt: Today you worked on creating your Vocabulary Digital Cards in Adobe Express. In one well-developed paragraph, reflect on the assignment by explaining which vocabulary word was easiest for you to understand, which word was most challenging, and how creating your own sentence and selecting an image helped strengthen your understanding of the vocabulary. Use specific examples from your work.

Response- The easiest word for me was frenetic. This word was the easiest for me to understand because I'm familiar the word. I used an image of a girl rushing to type something to represent someone being frantic. The most challenging vocabulary word for me to learn was recrimination because I've never heard of it before so I was new to it. I made my own sentence about a lawyer using recrimination to accuse the opposing side and a photo of two men blaming each other to help me understand it better. Summary- The easiest word for me to learn was frenetic and the most challenging was recrimination Reflection- In class we worked on a digital vocabulary assignment
