April 17-Political cartoons often use exaggeration and symbolism to make a point, and they can also serve as important visual sources for analysis. What is being criticized in this image? What does this source suggest about the issue, and what does the cartoonist want the audience to question or reconsider?

Reponse- The image represents trump sending out ice to harass and deport innocent people, and then try to use Iran attacking Israel as a distraction to make ice seem irrelevant. Both situations are very terrible but the main image is focused on ice and the "Big Beautiful Bill" while trump is off to the side pointing and shouting about the attacks trying to throw off the audience. Summary- I feel like this image representing the events right now really good. Reflection- In class we had a fire drill and then studied how to research properly and the steps.

April 15- Think about how you have searched for information in the past compared to what you practiced today. How is creating specific search phrases different from just “Googling” a topic? Explain how this strategy will improve the quality of your research.

Response- In the past I would usually just Google something to get the answer, and find it from the first two topics or first page. I wouldn't use sites like Wikipedia, but I didn't research for a trusted source to find information either. But I'm going to start using Google scholar to find info because it's from a trusted source and you can get more specific on what you're looking for. Summary- I uses to just go off the first few options when searching for something and wouldn't check if it was a trusted source which I learned to not do from now on. Reflection- In class we worked on the same research assignment but got another paper to fill out.

April 14-Prompt: Your research question is designed to explore a complex issue. What makes this topic difficult to answer or solve? Identify at least two different perspectives or factors related to your topic and explain why understanding multiple viewpoints is important.

Response- Our topic was to cancel culture against freedom of speech. Some challenging things to consider was the extent of getting canceled and the specifics of someone's actions or word choice. Summary- How far should cancel culture go against freedom of speech? Should people be limited to speaking their opinions. Reflection- In class we worked on the research sheet and learned how to look things up on Google scholar.

April 13- Reflect on your past experiences with research in school. What challenges have you faced when working independently or in a group, and how did you handle them? Explain how those experiences will influence the way you approach this current research project.

Response- In past projects when I worked with a group of people, I usually struggled with communicating with my group members, or there was one person in the group who didn't do any work. But with my group members currently I probably won't have that issue because we were actually engaging and doing work. Summary- past problems were communication while working on a project. Reflection- In class we started working on research and got new seats with our group members.

April 3-If you could plan the perfect spring break with no limitation, money, time, or responsibilities—what would it look like? Where would you go, who would you bring, and what would you do?

response- If I could go anywhere I would want to go to six flags at night with my huzzington Jorge. I've been wanting to go to six flags again for a while and it would be nice to go eat at Zaxby's afterwards if it didn't close so early. Summary- I would like to go to six flags with my boyfriend Reflection- I didn't have a 2nd period today but there was no bullying assembly and the bikers were really fun to watch.

April 2-In your blog post, analyze how his desire for independence contributed to his death. Then, connect this idea to your own life by explaining a time when you wanted complete independence or control over a situation. Did things go as planned, or did you face unexpected challenges?

Response- Chris wants to prove to himself that he can be independently so badly, that he refuses help and wont go back to the point where he ends up accepting his death. One time I refused to accept help on my math homework. I ended up failing the homework assignment and after that I let my mom help me with my problems. Summary- Chris's refusal for help led to his death.  Reflection- In class we read the book Into The Wild

March 31-How does watching the film version of Into the Wild change or deepen your understanding of Chris McCandless compared to reading the book? In your response, explain one key difference in how his character or experiences are presented, and connect this to a time when seeing something visually changed your understanding of a situation.

Response- It helps me see things from his perspective and understand him better, I feel more pity for him. I feel like a lot of people will feel more bad for him if they watch the film because he's shown in an environment where is parents are unhappy, and argue and put him and his sister through something kids shouldn't go through. There's a scene where his parents are screaming at each other and chris's dad gets on top of his mom and starts trying to strangle her and his mom yells "Look what your father is doing to me".  Summary- Watching the film deepens my understanding of chris Reflection- In class we watched Into The Wild film instead of reading the book

March 30- Write about a relationship in your life where you feel truly understood. Explain what makes that relationship strong and how it compares to the connection between Chris and Carine in Into the Wild.

response- If you read my past blog posts you probably saw this coming but the only person that truly makes me feel understood is my best friend. I've only ever trusted her, probably more than my parents or any relationship I've been in. Carine and Chris were so close because they went through so much, and all they had was each other. Because of that they grew close and trusted each other, thats how I feel with my friend. Summary- A close relationship I'm in is with my best friend and no one else. Reflection- In class we read "Into The Wild" where we see what type of relationship Chris has with his sister Carine.

March 26- Consider a situation where someone showed concern for you, even in a small way. How did you respond, and what does that reveal about you?

Response- One time during work we had a really big rush, and everyone received help except for me because I was making drinks and milkshakes in the back for the front and curbside people. It piled up really quick along with doordash and Uber eats orders but after 20 minutes the rush ended. Then one of the team leaders asked if I was good and I was kind of  irritated because it stressed me out but I lied and said I was good and didn't want to talk to anyone because I was agitated. This probably reveals I get annoyed easily. Summary- I got mad during a rush and lied and said I was fine which shows I get annoyed easily. Reflection- In class we worked on connections questions about the book were reading "Into The Wild"
