Aug 28- Dickinson uses the metaphor of a funeral to describe her inner struggles. What metaphor would you use to describe your own mind?

 Response- The metaphor I would use would be a puzzle. I would choose this because there are many different sides to me. I also strive to overcome internal challenges just like solving a puzzle. Summary- I think of myself being a complex person and I'm always changing.  Reflection- I don't know if other people would describe me as a puzzle but my friends traits that fit the metaphor.

Aug 26-Write about an adventure you would like to go on.

 Prompt Response- My coworkers have been planning to all go to six flags with me. That is somewhere I would like to go with them. Summary- I love roller coasters and I am excited to go there with my coworkers. Reflection- I hope we can make plans to go on a Sunday when we aren't working because chickfila is closed on Sundays.

Aug 25- Describe something you will never fully understand.

 Response- Something I will never understand is what happens to people when they die. I wonder what the afterlife looks like or if it will just be nothingness. Summary- Its scary to think about but its something that will happen to every existing thing, death is unavoidable. Reflection- It is probably impossible but I hope one day people discover what happens when you die or get some answers.

Aug 22- Write about something that you wish you had more of

  Prompt Response:  I wish I had more clothes. I am always shopping its one of my hobbies and I like wearing different outfits.  Summary: I do have money but I am trying to save up for more important things which is why I put my shopping sprees on hold. Reflection:  Hopefully soon I will get more clothes to wear.

Aug 21- What is the most creative thing you have ever made? Share what it was and explain why it stands out as your best work.

Prompt Response:  The most creative thing I've made is a sweater for my dog. My mom was knitting and she taught me how to knit, and i made a sweater for my dog to wear. Summary: I learned a new skill and gave my creation to my most precious possession, my dog.  Reflection: I want to create something new for me because my dog doesn't wear it.

Aug 19- share at least two of your most burning questions about life and explain why these questions matter to you.

  Prompt Response:  I want to know how the ancient Egyptians built the pyramids. I'm really interested in how they moved the stone blocks and built them, especially because they didn't have any advanced technology to help them build it. My last question is life beyond earth. I wonder if there are other planets with beings in the universe and it's scary to think about how big space is. Summary: I'm curious about how the pyramids were built and what is beyond earth in the universe. Reflection: Maybe one day these questions will be discovered and answered.

Aug 18-Describe a time you felt completely lost.

  Prompt Response:  A time I felt lost was my freshmen year of high school. I only had one friend and felt out of place in all of my classes. I was very shy and didn't know how to socialize with people. Summary: When I first started out it was hard but I think that change is needed in order to grow. Luckily I had met a girl in my 6th period and she's been my best friend since then. Reflection:  Freshman year was rough but I made a lot of friends and learned from a lot of experiences. Even now I still get the feeling that I'm lost but I always get through it.

Aug 15th- Analyze how you’ve adapted to the demands of this course over the past week, and evaluate one strength and one challenge you anticipate as we progress, justifying your insights with personal examples.

  Prompt Response:  I've gotten used to this class and doing the blog posts. Everyday I make sure that I've finished the blog posts for the day. And I've even gotten into the habit of analyzing texts more. But when I have work it can be a challenge to get every assignment done because I have other classwork to complete. Summary: I'm slowly adapting to the class and getting my work done this week. Reflection:  In this class I have learned a few skills such as analyzing texts and really thinking about the meaning behind things. I've also learned a few terms like origin myths.

Aug 14th- Describe a real-life situation in which jealousy negatively affected a relationship you experienced.

  Prompt Response:  In freshman year my first boyfriend had very bad jealousy issues and I had to cut him off. It was a really unhealthy relationship and he ended up cheating on me because he assumed I was unfaithful to him when in reality he was overthinking and just a bad person in general Summary: People who act on jealousy can bring out the worst in them and result in bad outcomes. Reflection:  After reading "The Jealous Father" I learned how much jealousy can affect a person and other people around them. 

Aug 12th- Write about a meaningful object or place in your life that carries a story.

  Prompt Response:  A meaningful object in my life are my converse. My shoes have seen everything since sophomore year and I had even worn them to my job interview. They are also meaningful to me because I used to wear them in elementary school, so my mom bought them last year for my birthday and I cherish all the gifts that I received from my mom. Summary: I wear my shoes a lot and believe it or not they Cary many memories from my high school experience and life in general. Reflection:  in class I learned how important begochiddy was in the Navajo Creation Myth

Aug 11th- Write about a time you felt connected to nature, like the kinship in Native American myths.

Prompt Response:  In 8th grade I was in the woods with my friends and we had found a stray  kitten. Luckily it didn't have rabies and I had bonded with the kitten and I had gotten food to feed it. At that moment I feel like I had connected to the kitten, wildlife, and it reminds me of the kinship from the Native American myths.  Summary: This situation reminded me how Native Americans had kinship between nature, wildlife such as animals, and the land. Reflection:  In class I learned about how native Americans had a kinship between nature and animals/ wildlife. I also learned how they had told their stories vocally.
