Jan 30-Prompt: If you had to write a poem about your life RIGHT NOW, what would it be about? Explain your answer in at least 4 to 5 sentences.

Response- The poem would be about my life outside of school, about how I got my license and started driving. I would also mention working and the responsibilities that come with it. The poem would be about growing up into a young adult and how you get more responsibilities. Summary- My poem would be about growing up. Reflection- In class er took notes about rhetorical analysis, and class was only 30 minutes because of the pep rally.

Jan 29- When you are in a mood that you do not like, what are some strategies that you use to change your mood?

Response- When I'm in a bad mood, some things that can cheer me up are eating, calling my best friend, or sleeping. When I eat it never disappoints, I always feel better after eating up some McDonald's. It doesn't sound healthy but I don't get it that often. Calling my friend also cheers me up the most because she always gives me good advice or makes me laugh if I'm in a bad situation. Summary- Eating, talking to my trusted friends, and watching movies or tiktok help my mood go up. Reflection- In class I did two common lit assignments for the block day.

Jan 27-Describe your personal approach to creativity. What steps do you follow when you’re working on a project. Tell me about a project you created that you were most proud of.

Response- Usually when Im working on a project, like a poster or slideshow, I like to make it physically appealing. I like to make things colorful and sometimes I look for inspiration if I want to go for a certain theme. Summary- A project I made that I was most proud of was a biology project where we had to make a 3d shape from papers. I forgot what the project was called but it was constructed with hexagon shaped papers and each paper had a colorful page with information and pictures. I still have it and it looks good.  Reflection- I did a writable assignment in class and wrote down new vocabulary.

jan 23-which rhetorical device do you find most effective or compelling

Response- I think metaphor is the most effective. I think its the most commonly used in phrases and sentences. I also noticed in the Martin Luther King Jr assignment that he used a lot of metaphors in his "I have a dream" speech. Summary- I also think ethos, pathos, and logos are effective. Especially pathos, Donald Trump and Martin Luther King Jr used them in their speeches. They're also easy to identify in my opinion. Reflection- I think I did okay on the test about the rhetorical devices, I didn't have that much time to study because of work and my other classes, but I understand most of the rhetorical devices we learned.

Jan 20-Choose a vocabulary word that resonates with you personally. Write a blog post explaining why this word is significant to you, including any personal memories or experiences that link you to the word.

Response- The vocab word I would choose from lesson 7 that resonates with me the most is probably livid. I get mad very easily, I wouldn't say that I have anger issues but i get agitated quickly. For example one time while I was working, a customer yelled at me for something that wasn't my fault and I couldn't say anything back to defend myself. After they left I had to take a 5 minute break because I was "livid". Summary- I wouldn't say the word describes me as a person because i'm not an angry person but I can just get mad easily.  Reflection- That was the word I was also most familiar with when doing the vocab assignment. But I misunderstood the assignment and copied down the definition sentences instead of creating original sentences

Jan 15-Describe a place where you feel the most at peace and explain why.

Response- A place I feel most at peace is at my moms house. When I'm at my dad's place he acts very dictating and doesn't like when I want to be alone opposed to being at my moms place. she lets me have privacy and more freedom. I still spend time with my mom but she actually lets me do things and being at her house feels carefree and I can actually relax at home. Summary- I also like my room better because most of my stuff is there and my friends things. My bed is also very comfortable so I like to nap a lot. Reflection- Having a place that brings me peace helps me reset as well after working and being at school. I feel like most teens would also choose their room for some reason but that's where I feel the most at peace.

Jan 13-Reflect on a time when you had to rely on someone else. How did it feel?

Response- A time I had to rely on someone who was my best friend Kimberly. I did this a lot in freshman year when I had certain problems I came to her about. It felt good to have someone I trust on my side. Summary- I still rely on her today but less often, she also comes to me sometimes but I think its good to have at least one person you can rely on, its good to be independent but its also important to have someone help you. Reflection- I hope that some of my other friends feel like they can rely on me when they need help.

Jan 12-What life skills have you learned in high school that will help you live independently after high school? Which skills do you think are essential for your success after high school?

Response- Some skills I've learned in high school are learning to keep up with my school work early. It's easier to get it all done right when the school week starts so you're not procrastinating trying to finish it an hour before its due. I still need to work on the skill but every other week I'm pretty good at turning in my work on time. Summary- I think that the skill I described earlier is essential for my success after school ends. It's a good habit to not procrastinate and it'll help me in the long run. It's also not good if you turn work in late because it shows your unreliable in my opinion. Reflection- I think I'll use this skill well in the remainder of high school and even after when I have a job or when I go to college.

Jan 9- Describe a time when you took a hiatus from something important. What led to the break, and how did it impact you?

Response- A time I took a hiatus was recently, and it was from work. When I first got my job last year I was working 3 days a week, and over the summer 5 days a week. But this first semester I started losing sleep and less focused on school because I was working so much. Summary- I ended up having to only work Fridays and Saturdays because of how much I was working. School should definitely be prioritized over work because some of my grades were a jump scare.  Reflection- I've been getting more sleep now and sticking to only Fridays and Saturdays until I learn to maintain everything.

Jan 8-Use a hyperbole, an understatement, and a litotes to describe today's lesson.

Response- The lesson on Thursday took 1000 years because of the block day. (Hyperbole) We had a little interactive assignment. (Understatement) The rhetorical questions we did were not challenging for me. (Litotes) Summary- I did have some stumps understanding at first, but when we did examples it helped me understand more. There were also some funny debates in class.  Reflection- I wonder what other rhetorical questions were going to learn on Monday and if they will be more difficult than the ones we already learned in class.

Jan 6- reflect on how you spent your Holiday Break.

Response- During my holiday break I spent most of my time at home with my family. I slept in everyday and went shopping with my mom. On the days I wasn't with family I was working at my job and went to an employee party before Christmas.  Summary- Overall I had a really good break and I wasn't ready to go back to school but not I have my priorities set straight. Reflection- In class we worked on 4 goals and I think I know exactly what I want to achieve. One goal I'm  prioritizing this year is getting all A's . I want to prioritize this so that I can get into a good college.  Last semester I made a C because I was working too many night shifts during the school week and didn't get enough sleep. But this year, ill  be more focused  because I cut my hours to only Friday and Saturday night shifts .  By May 2026, at the end of the year, I want to have achieved this goal. Another of my goals is to save my money.  This is important to me because then I'll hav...
