March 31-How does watching the film version of Into the Wild change or deepen your understanding of Chris McCandless compared to reading the book? In your response, explain one key difference in how his character or experiences are presented, and connect this to a time when seeing something visually changed your understanding of a situation.
Response- It helps me see things from his perspective and understand him better, I feel more pity for him. I feel like a lot of people will feel more bad for him if they watch the film because he's shown in an environment where is parents are unhappy, and argue and put him and his sister through something kids shouldn't go through. There's a scene where his parents are screaming at each other and chris's dad gets on top of his mom and starts trying to strangle her and his mom yells "Look what your father is doing to me".
Summary- Watching the film deepens my understanding of chris
Reflection- In class we watched Into The Wild film instead of reading the book
